I'm reading a lot and I crochet a little...

Yarn along 13-02-2013

 

There is a nice italian forum on the web, libridine, where I found many people that love reading. We are  starting a new reading group today, we will comment La Dame aux Camélias - The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas . 

 

Last week , while I was hanging around in the library, I saw The Toss of a Lemon by Padma Viswanathan. The cover and the italian title (la sposa bambina - the baby bride) were so evocative, I decided to borrow it, even if I have too many books to read on my shelf.

I read almost an half, it is really fluid and I like the plot.

 

I am crocheting a new rose blanket, as my best friend is expecting!

Yarn along 6-02-2013

Peppa pig is one of my little princess favourite cartoons. Her design is simply, so why don't try to make one crocheted peppa? I've already made a knitted one, using a free pattern found on the web.

This is my work in progress: we still miss arms and legs. I'm not very sure about the lenght of the snout, maybe it is too long.

 

 

 

I'm reading the atrocity exhibition by Ballard and the great stink by Clark.

 

I really don't like the first one, but it was proposed in one of my reading group.

The great stink is a little bit better. The first 80 pages are boring and I was always thinking: "maybe I should give up", but a friend of mine told me "if you go beyond the 100 pages, you will be rewarded".

 

It has been a week full of nice moments:

• I finished Amazzonia, a great adventure novel by Rollins;
• I baked my favourite filled mushrooms;
• I discovered a perfect jam tart recipe;
• I baked a recipe found via pinterest the breakfast pot pies by mom dot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yarn along 30-01-2013

I was so happy last week when I discovered this lovely initiative.

I read a lot, at least 6 - 7 books per month, and I was very surprised reading that there are also other knitters that do love reading.

Here it is my first yarn along post, I hope everything is right.

I'm reading amazzonia by j.rollins and piccolo mondo antico (little ancient world) by a.fogazzaro, an italian classic.

I'm crocheting a floreal blanket, it is a very relaxing project.
