I'm studying a nice book with wonderful photos about Sicilian recipes

and I'm starting a new book,

"This is how it ends" by MacMahon K.

 

 

It has been a busy week and I managed in crocheting just a little quantity of flowers for my blanket

it is such a relaxing activity,

I would like to have a 48 h day!!!

My flower blanket goes on, I'm crocheting flowers and flowers and flowers...

I'm reading a lot:

Camus's The plague. It is a very good novel, full in descriptions and nice characters,

Philippe Claudel and Ito Ogawa.

 

 

I'm very happy to share with you my Red and Yellow pepper tomato sauce recipe here.

It is a nice simply and fast recipe, and the sauce can be used in a lot of different ways.

Yes I'm reading Twilight. I know I'm no more a teenager, but I couldn't resist to a modern vampire story.

 

I'm also starting Oates's We were the Mulvaneys , many friends told me I will appreciate it.

Last weeks were so full of accidents, I couldn't join Jinny at yarn along.

I had a very few time for me, and I didn't read nor knit alot.
Some months ago I wrote on my blog a free pattern for a baby blanket, and I'm sure you will appreciate it.

I am trying to read Erica Bauermeister 's "the school of essential ingredients" and Roy Lewis 's What We Did to Father.

I'm reading a novel by Clara Sanchez. Last week I read The scent of lemon leaves and I was a good book.

I don't think Daniel Pennac needs any introduction.

Yarn along 27-02-2013

February is almost finished and I feel so tired and happy. It has a been a month full of news.

First of all last week we celebrated my daughter's second birthday and I spent two days cooking and baking. At the party there were jam tarts and different quiches and mini pizzas and cookies and a RAINBOW CAKE. Yes I managed in baking it!!! (I don't think I'll bake it any more in my whole life).

I'll post the recipe as soon as possibile. My little girl loved the cake and ate an entire slice of it.

 

Sorry but I am still reding the sister's house by Charlotte Link. It is a great book and I miss just a few pages to finish it.

Yarn along 20-02-2013

Having a wednesday date with yarn along is making me read and knit and crochet much more than in the past months.

I enjoy thinking to all of you reading and knitting as I'm doing, and I 'm starting to feel as part of a big family.

Enjoy a free knitting pattern for a baby blanket here.

This week I worked on my floral crochet blanket. It can be described as a very relaxing crochet project and I know that I will love the result.

I'm planning to make one not in plain color, maybe something more similar to a rainbow.

 

 

I will start the sister's house today, I think it will be a good reading. I finished yesterday the second book of agnes browne story, and it was great. Agnes Browne makes me laugh a lot, and I really need to laugh in these days.

Yarn along 6-02-2013

Peppa pig is one of my little princess favourite cartoons. Her design is simply, so why don't try to make one crocheted peppa? I've already made a knitted one, using a free pattern found on the web.

This is my work in progress: we still miss arms and legs. I'm not very sure about the lenght of the snout, maybe it is too long.

 

 

 

I'm reading the atrocity exhibition by Ballard and the great stink by Clark.

 

I really don't like the first one, but it was proposed in one of my reading group.

The great stink is a little bit better. The first 80 pages are boring and I was always thinking: "maybe I should give up", but a friend of mine told me "if you go beyond the 100 pages, you will be rewarded".

 

It has been a week full of nice moments:

• I finished Amazzonia, a great adventure novel by Rollins;
• I baked my favourite filled mushrooms;
• I discovered a perfect jam tart recipe;
• I baked a recipe found via pinterest the breakfast pot pies by mom dot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yarn along 30-01-2013

I was so happy last week when I discovered this lovely initiative.

I read a lot, at least 6 - 7 books per month, and I was very surprised reading that there are also other knitters that do love reading.

Here it is my first yarn along post, I hope everything is right.

I'm reading amazzonia by j.rollins and piccolo mondo antico (little ancient world) by a.fogazzaro, an italian classic.

I'm crocheting a floreal blanket, it is a very relaxing project.
